Re: USA trip
Another cool day. Serious off roading with Hummer H1 and pro driver. Really fun and something you absolutely have to do in Moab. A few pictures. In that little gif we stopped in the middle of a 45 degree hill and then went straight up. Impressive performance on the H1.

Re: USA trip
Now THAT'S a Real Hummer right there !!
Anything after the H1 is a glorified Taho.
I used to outfit Police cars and certain " other " types of government vehicles and we had a few H2's & 3's that we made into Police issue.
We couldn't believe how much they had changed from the original like this one.
Great pics and vids Joe, Enjoy your time here

Kinda like the original "Land Cruiser", Poco Pal
Great pics again, Joe - - - in Colorado we called it 4-wheelin, in Texas we call it Off Roadin or Mud Hoggin, which is another experience altogether

Re: USA trip
Yes. We are not allowed to go off road in Norway so this was a really cool experience for us.

Re: USA trip
Last day in Moab. Spent the day in Arches national park. Spectacular scenery. Scorching hot for us. 100 f and virtually no shadow made it a hard day but still well worth. Here are some more pictures from todays views.

Flying to Santa Monica, Los Angeles today. Been there a few times before so not new for us. Staying there for relaxing after all the touring.

Re: USA trip
Some time on the Beach should help with the R&R for sure

Re: USA trip
Another great day. Started with a visit to the Griffith observatory in Hollywood. Then a tour of walk of fame looking at all the stars in the pavement and the Mann Chinese theater. Ended the day with a walk up and down Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills. Watching all the luxury stores and more interesting for the boys: all the fancy cars. Very touristic but still fun.
Back in Santa Monica we found a nice steak restaurant called Meat on ocean. Had a great meal. Started with a small plate with bread manchego cheese and Parma ham. Then a porterhouse steak with three different sauces. Mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides. Tasted very good.
Here's a few pictures of the meal, and the better part of me at the observatory with the iconic Hollywood sign in the background.

Great photos Joe, hope ya'll are having a great time. Now that we know you can take the high heat of the mountain west, we know you will survive in Texas.

Re: USA trip
Thanks. We enjoy the last few days. Planned to stay on the beach and relax these days, but it's not us. To boring. We've rented a car today going along the the shore. Driving along the Pacific highway. Have done it before, but it's very beautiful so can do it again.GRailsback wrote:Great photos Joe, hope ya'll are having a great time. The heat was ok as long as it's below 100. Probably more humid in Texas.
