Slice longways, baste with Zesty Italian Dressing, sprinkle with SPG and grill over smoke.
I love the taste of Yeller Crooknecks the most

Those are great. I also like the fried and boiled with onions. Sherry’s Mother has an awesome Squash Relish recipe that I can a few pints of each year. Anyone interested in the recipe I’ll be happy to share

Big storm hit this afternoon; I’m scared to see the garden in the morning; I fear the worst :(

Hope you all are OK and that the garden survived.

We filled up our little boxes today with dirt and cow dirt. In the largest there hopefully will be two different lettuces, radicchio and scallions. If we're lucky. In the small one there are strawberries. Two different variants that should be ready to harvest in june/July for the early one and August/September for the other.

Have to add slug protection. We are plagued with a Spanish snail that hitchhiked with imported plants some years ago. It's spread all over the southern part. Big 4 inch long disgusting things in large numbers that eat everything with leaves.Image

Cow poop. I thought it was called called cow dirt but it's probably only a direct translation from Norwegian. We say dirt for both poop and dirt.

Believe it or not but I grew up hearing it called and also calling it "THIRD BASE" :!:

So I wasn't completely far off then. Third base must be slang?

It comes from young country lads playing "sandlot baseball" and
using 4 dry "cow patties" in the field or empty lot for first, 2nd, 3rd bases and Home Plate.
There's another expression from working in the cow lot that is "Watch out and don't step on 3rd Base"
