Re: Vacation/Road Trip
That’s pretty cool. Would you happen to know how old that is? Just curious how they did it if they didn’t have modern equipment

Pretty good article. Memorial was started in 1948 but has never been finished.

Every one is a Wow picture buddy. Enjoy the trip, and since yer an oilman in the Badlands that Teapot Dome Scandal is probably a good relevant history tale.

Re: Vacation/Road Trip
Sorry for the delay, but yes, Crazy Horse is still a work in progress. The Chief, Standing Bear, partnered up with a sculptor. And the agreed that they would take no money from the government for the project. The sculptors youngest daughter is now in charge of it. And they say she is a better sculptor than her father was. They only have a small amount of people working on it. And they have new technology as well. Where as Mt. Rushmore had a whole army of people working on it.

Yesterday’s trip was to historic Deadwood, SD. Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane. I will post more on that but right now I am off for a visit to Mt. Rushmore.

Re: Vacation/Road Trip
These next few post are taking place at AJ’s Ore Car Saloon in Custer SD. while I drink a few beers. The warden is taking a nap back at the motorhome. She was out late with me last night and needs a rest.
Took a trip to Deadwood SD yesterday. You will notice a rather large amount of Harleys in some of these. Sturgis is going on right now so it’s a bit busy in the area.

Re: Vacation/Road Trip
Today was a trip to Mt. Rushmore. It really doesn’t need much explanation. Just an incredible sight.
