I wanted to do spaghetti with meat sauce but got overruled. Therefore I'm cooking a turkey (maybe put it in the smoker - not sure) along with stuffing, "crack green beans", baked sweet taters and lemon cream pie for dessert. I'm going to miss the simplicity of spaghetti..... :banghead:

Merry Christmas.

My family has always done a thanksgiving repeat at Christmas. I’ve smoked a Turkey and a ham. We’ll have dressing, green bean casserole, coke salad, mashed taters etc.

Afraid if I asked to update the menu they might kick me out

Sounds like ours on Christmas Day at the In Laws who are both still kick’n in their 90’s. At HIS house, you eat at 12:00, not 12:03. We do change up Christmas Eve when we have our Children and Grandkids over to our house and do Mexican Food, games, Bonfire, and lots of fireworks

We do generally mix it up with the in-laws on Christmas Eve but this year they decided to join my family Christmas Day. Not sure what we’ll do this evening…I Aldi’s buy some ribeyes thinking they were headed this way but pizza might sound good too.

Mexican food bonfire and fireworks???? I’m coming to your place!!!!

Christmas Day is brunch with the granddaughters and parents. Menu- eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, sweet biscuits, fruit salad, pie and cookies.
Christmas Eve dinner at our daughters- pork loin mashed potatoes and some eclectic side she is sure to come up with.
Christmas Eve lunch is kielbasa, cheeses and crackers.
The diet starts after Epiphany.

It’s going to be unusual this year. They are forecasting Record Highs for the next 3 days in East Texas, lower 80’s. It’s usually cold when I build that fire. I’ll take some pictures and post them tomorrow

So much great food mentioned here. I would love to taste it all.

Christmas eve we have cured lamb as I have posted in the forum before. Christmas day will be a brunch with ham, roastbeef, smoked salmon, cheese, scrambled eggs, different cured meat and leftover from yesterday's pork belly.

Now we're enjoying a warm toddy with my parents (85 and 82) around the fire. -1 fahrenheit outside today but due to the wind it equals -25 fahrenheit so pretty cold.

Wish you all a merry Christmas.Image
