Couple of our stops when we visit family are:

1921 - Boiled seafood but don’t pass on the raw oysters and cold beer

Hebert’s Cafe - just plain good home cooking but only open for breakfast and lunch during the week and Friday evenings

Mr PoBoy - The sloppy roast beef PoBoy is my favorite

TARC (on blimp base) Breakfast and Lunch home cooking

TARC (on Enterprise) just go for the beignets

Copeland’s is pretty good as well

Have been to 1921 and Hebert’s since Hurricane - I’m guessing the others are open by now

I have always loved that West Main Pizza. Great Pizza and just has that old timey pizza joint feel and locally owned. The owners are always there if they are open.

1921 is good, but I am a fan of Cajun Critters as well for my boiled seafood over there.

Also, if you haven't been to Cristiano's you need to give that a try. great Italian.

I have been to Abear's, not sure if it is the same place as your spelling. its not far from 1921 and old Dooley's bar.

We have the same Hebert’s Cafe (A-Bear) ;)

We prefer Cafe Milano for Italian. Cristiano is not a nice guy.

We like Cajun Critters as well - just been going to 1921 for years. The owner recognizes us as her customers from Corpus.

I did not know that about cristiano’s I will give Milano a try one of these days. Any more I have trouble getting past boiled seafood or pizza over there.

Producing high quality food is important. But being good people is equally or more important.
