Re: 2023 Garden Thread
We came home from being away for about 10 days, apparently a lot of rain. Most stuff not doin too well. I get good drainage but tomatoes and peppers seem overly wet.

I’m having a hard time with my peppers and squash also; they look pitiful. The tomatoes aren’t great either

Re: 2023 Garden Thread
I can’t even get carrots and green onions growing. I have a couple radishes. I’ve planted cucumbers twice, … nothing.
Any recommendations for a PH tester (without mailing in my samples) ?
Either a kit or a probe variety to have on hand.
I am thinking my garden soil I bought is pretty alkaline. Might need to dial that back a little
As my wife just said, yer still gonna see us in the produce aisle.

The weather hasn’t been good for gardening. I suppose a soil test couldn’t hurt

Well, now we've done it. Bought three tomato plants and a pepper. Selection poor, but we got a couple of new-to-us varieties: Lunchbox pepper and Midnight Snack tomato…which carries a Prop 65 warning.
Planting green beans too.

Our whole garden consists of two cherry tomato plants, two mild banana pepper plants. We used to have a huge garden but it became more work than pleasure.

I enjoy it but it does become work in Texas once the temperatures get in the 90’s and lower 100’s. I can a little but get more happiness out of giving Friends and Family part of the harvest
