Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

I know several people who USED to use crisco, but now use lard, me included.
the best biscuits you will ever put in your mouth are made with lard, our household is a little on the different side of life,
from time to time in thinking of methods and ingredients we consume, I insist we do a scientific as possible taste test.
Sometimes the wife will try something different and a most careful comment prevents UFO's from coming my direction :laughing7:

I don't make any "Scratch Dough" any more and all I use Crisco for is when I'm preheating the Cast Iron Skillet :dont:

Still make the occasional scratch biscuit! And use all kinds of fats for them, including mayonnaise...once.

Lard is hard to find.

If you have a Super Market with a Mexican section look for Manteca. Same stuff, another name.
