Your User Name interests me - - - mainly because there is a large area over in far East Texas that is called "The Big Thicket" and I was wondering if "they" had anything to do with each other  :texas: :texas:

that's it - - - we took my Grandaughter there when she was very little and back then when you came in there was a bldg that you walked beside and then all of a sudden their was a Hippo cage. that particular day a keeper was washing ?him? down and he had walked into the corner by the incoming bldg - - - he had his HUGE mouth wide open and against the cyclone fence so that all of a sudden you saw a huge mouth with huge teeth wide open - - - close enuff to reach out and touch - - - I was holding my Grandaughter - - - she screamed and began climbing up my face and head trying to get away from that Monster :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

Hippie passed a couple of years back. I’m not sure if they have a replacement. If I remember correctly that Hippo was given to someone and that’s what started the idea for the Zoo in Lufkin
