Sadly it is done. The YouTube video is a piece of East Texas history. Regardless of your religious views, you have to love this. I have posted it before

I’m going to have to roll down 45 in the near future and just happened to be looking for bbq stops along the way was the only reason I came across it being closed. Sad I missed it. I didn’t see much of anything bbq wise that got my attention until you get into Houston.

I had not heard that. Sad to hear. Legends are often only legends because they can only exist in our memories.

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

Before you get to Madisonville there is Centerville. Most I-45 traffic stops at Woody's, which is very good. The original Woody's is on the West side of 45 and the new store is on the East side. Directly across HWY 7 from the new Woody's is Cousin's BBQ. We've eaten there a couple of times and I was very satisfied. They make their own sausage and I really like the jalapeño Cheese. If you like Buckees, you might go across the street and browse around Woody's after you eat. It's pretty cool. Lots of jelly and such, Bakery, hand cut beef, and homemade sausage of every kind. For a plate of BBQ, I'd recommend Cousin's
