Lazy Chipotle Hot Sauce

Postby Left Coast » Sun Jan 12, 2020 2:47 pm

Lazy as the day is long ...
1 small can Chipotle en Adobo
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp Mexican oregano
¼ tsp cumin
juice of 1 lime
⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup beer

Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, drag out the blender and put the spurs to 'er. (Oooh - I sure hope wifey likes that shade of orange in her plastic mixing bowl)

Strain out the pulp and the seeds … and bottle it up. Makes about 2 cups. The smokiness was clearly there, but the kick surprised me...

Yup. I think this explains why so many Alton Brown recipes calls out for 12 ounces plus 1 Tablespoon of beer ...
