BIg Fan here - - pretty much the only kind that I'll eat, including ground beef. Their center cut Tenderloins are my very favorite.

We used to do a " Milk Fat Calf" every year from the In-Laws. Had it processed, etc. I can't tell you I could tell the difference

I don’t trust anybody nowadays; unless it was a local guy you knew was feeding them out. Kinda like the “ certified Angus “ brisket. I don’t believe that crap

Re: Any fans of Grass fed-meat?
My thoughts on grass fed might piss off the folks making the most $$ from the term grass fed. grain finished always gets my $ why because more fat= more flavor and normally a more tender cut of meat. the farmers/packing house save a lot of $$ not having to buy grain and hold the critters in small pins for 60-90 days, cows have always been grass fed up to a point then finished for a certain amount of time, if you want to pay more for tougher cheaper cuts that's fine , taste is different for every body, also the breed of the cow will also make a difference. lot of variables when it comes down to the finished product imo. glad we have choices as the same old chit would get old quickly

I was in an HEB yesterday looking for some baby formula for my grandson and I swung by the meat dept to just have a look around. I saw some ground beef advertised as "No Feedlot Beef" I took a picture of it.

Re: Any fans of Grass fed-meat?
Might say that the "bottom line" is the taste and I've been buying and grilling Grass Fed Center Cut Beef Tenderloins for a long time BECAUSE THEY TASTE GOOD. However, HEB had a 2 pack of "their" Center Cut Beef Tenderloins on sale and I decided to try them.
I'll be fixin one on the Weber tomorrow and the truth shall be revealed. I'll post the "taste" results here when I finish.

Re: Any fans of Grass fed-meat?
I haven't bought any beef at the big grocery stores in quite awhile. With the exception of whole briskets and a whole tenderloin. But I am kind of in agreement with what Rambo says as far as the labeling. I know for fact that my beef in my freezer is grain fed because I have it shipped in from South Dakota. When I buy locally here, I use a small independant market, but they are just processing boxed beef, so you probably really don't know how it was fed or finished.

Here is the picture I took yesterday. HEB has a lot of beef in there case advertised as grass fed.
