The boy piped up with a request for ribs yesterday, which is all the excuse I needed. In theory.
I pulled out my last rack of duroc St. Louis cut ribs that I snagged from Creekstone Farms and thawed them.
Got the kiddos off to school and picked up a buddy at the car repair shop, then came home and got all of my ingredients together. Went out to start the SmokeFire to get it up to temp while I got the ribs seasoned up.
And promptly got a notification that the auger motor had failed. So that's fun. So I'll be working on a replacement the next couple of days.
Instead fired up the Vision kamado as a quick alternate.
But I had plans to take pictures of all of the prep work and everything. And the failure totally derailed me, so apologies there.
I laid down a base layer of Killer Hogs AP rub. I love this as a base layer because it is very finely ground and melts well into the meat. Once that did its magic, I hit it with Sucklebusters Hog Waller (my all-time favorite SB rub). And forgot to take a picture.
So, here they are after about 45 minutes on the smoke.
More to come (I hope).

Got sidetracked with baseball. Need to tweak my rubs, I think. Flavor was just a bit off of what I was looking for. They ate well, and the family loved em, so I'll chalk it up as a success.
