Curious to know what does being insulated have to do with it? The fire box is insulated?

family has used reverse. So we used to even temps and cooking good food without the crazy temps port to starboard

I’m not a big fan just saying.
If your offset is built correctly, you won't have the temp differences from one end to the other. Mine will run dead nuts even across 9.5 feet.
