ECB get overloaded

Postby OldUsedParts » Fri Dec 25, 2020 1:47 pm

Decided to give a Beer Can Turkey to our Friends down the street. They do so much for us as Neighbors and are like Family. Dusted it with Suckle Busters Texas Pecan and it turned out fine, however, I should have bought a 10# instead of a 13#. Who would have thought that a mere 3# would cause so many problems. It almost didn't fit under the lid and I couldn't lower it any more because of the charcoal pan being so close. The 10# birds are usually done in 2 hours but this one stayed on 3.5 hours and then I had to finish it in the Oven. Oh Well, they will be carving it soon and I hope I get good reports.

There’s nothing wrong with using the oven on a home cook once you’ve laid a little smoke on it Buddy

That finally soaked thru, even though I should have done it after 2 hours
