Steak it’s what’s for lunch

Postby bsooner75 » Sun Aug 29, 2021 4:37 pm

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately. Kids and life are keeping us real busy. All good though! Finally got time to cool and actually take some pics.

Found some NY Strips on the close out bin at Kroger and couldn’t let them stay sitting there looking all sad. So I brought them home, hit them with some Two Pigs Mafia and called it lunch. These turned out extremely tender and the flavor from the rub is fantastic. Tossed some mesquite chunks on the fire as well. Love mesquite grilled beef.

Hope y’all are all doing well!

Oh ya, that looks nice. I had plenty of meat to grill this weekend but couldn’t because of the constant rain we had here.

I agree with Parts - that plate doesn't need another thing! Looks delicious! So glad you rescued those 4 sad little strips. :D

Thanks y’all. We really enjoyed them.

Funny story was we thought we’d try to eat a really big lunch and then that evening if we got hungry we’d eat a sandwich or something light. Somehow that turned into this being lunch and ordering pizza at dinner. Backfire!

So intentionally cooked a couple extra potatoes and an extra steak. Tonight I busted out the cast iron skillet and turned that into some hash topped with some over medium eggs, green onion and cholula hot sauce…man it was good again!
