So long, summer

Postby Sailor Kenshin » Tue Sep 07, 2021 1:24 pm

We said farewell with a simple plate of knockwurst on a sub roll with kraut and mustard. His had cheese, mine didn't.

There was also a plate of zucchini, plus garden beans and onions. But we kinda hoovered it up as an 'appetizer.' I like these rolls. They come uncut so you can cut them any way, top or side.

Watermelon for later. Sigh.

I like this. Hot dogs and cheeze doodles. It looks delicious.

Is summer over for you too? Hope things have improved after the bad weather.

I’m still not taking down the tents & putting away the grills yet - unless another hurricane heads our way.

Nuttin like a Good Dawg IMHO - :wav: :chef: - - We could use a little non-humidity less than 96 ourselves but, as GTR mentioned that may be a while. :dont: :whiteflag:

Really this summer’s temps have been good. I don’t think we’ve seen 100* but a couple days. It’s that humidity that’s been rough. But I have gotten rain when needed, humidity is just a by product.

The older I get the more I dislike Summer in Texas. We've actually been talking about leaving in June and coming back in October. Maybe find a cool spot in New Mexico

I just tried that for the month of August, and it was hotter up north than it was here. 102 coming across South Dakota. And heartbreaking to see some of the crops on the western side of the state.

I know where to go if you want it cooler.

Today it's 80 f. That's very warm for us. Probably the last warm day. Nighs are now down to 42

Wife and I have discussed the same sort of move. If you’re serious I’d recommend looking into Maine, up toward Bangor. Property is very reasonable, or at least was 2-3 years back. Also found the folks up there as down home as they come.

I was hoping for something closer to the house, maybe cooler up in the mountains close to Riudoso

Thanks! We took it yesterday when out for a rare drive. We took a video also but I can't get it to work.
