Pork steaks St. Louis style.

Postby Norway Joe » Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:57 pm

I was so inspired to try something new after reading the post about country style ribs some days ago.

We have traditionally just fried slices of pork butt bone-in fast in a pan. I haven't been fond of it at all with all the fat and collagen so we haven't made it for years. After seeing the above mentioned post we figured we had to give them a try.

I found this recipe which I followed:

https://thehungrybluebird.com/bbq-pork-steaks/

This was an eye opener and an immediate favorite in the family. Cheap, tender and tasty. Will definitely be more of these.

We also had a little pulled pork leftover from yesterday.

Thanks for letting me learn this.

Looks wonderful Joe! :salut: :salut: :salut:
The recipe is similar to what I do but with foil and I grill mine indirect. I may try this with a half pan thank you for sharing. :D

Cool. I grilled the steaks a few minute each side before I put them in the pan with a foil lid. I had the pan on indirect. I prefer indirect since my experience is that on direct heat the pan has a tendency to dry out.

After they finished I grilled the steaks a couple of minutes each side to dry of the surface. Used the remaining juice in the pan as a sauce.
