So I had been draining my pit into a metal pail, mixing in the ashes from the firebox and emptying in a trash bag. Well the can was getting kinda gunked up so I washed it out…in the grass. Needless to say the wife is not thrilled with how I tackled this chore.
Soooooo…I see for the pellet grills they make liners for the little drip buckets. The problem with those is they are just not big enough. I’d probably fill that thing up three times and that would make an even bigger mess once I crank open the ball valve on my LSG.
Has anybody seen a liner similar to those for a full sized pail? Think the size of a beer bucket. Or I’m open to a better solution if y’all have one.
Thanks!

Re: Grease disposal thoughts
I use a plactic bucket, then it goes into a trash can with a bag in it. I just use paper towels to clean out the inside of the bucket. Catch it before it jells up to bad.

Re: Grease disposal thoughts
Sounds like a good plan on the plastic bucket. I was just using the metal pail Since I’m already raking ash into it

If the fence wasn’t on a walking trail I’d consider that. I’d have my picture on FB in seconds

Re: Grease disposal thoughts
I save a few empty large plastic bottles just for Grease and when they are full, they go in the Garbage for pickup.
Empties like Canola Oil, Clothes washing liquid and Vinegar bottles. They way it doesn't mess up anything except the "Land Fill"

I realize that I can do things that those living in Sub Divisions cannot. How about keeping your cardboard boxes and putting the grease/ ashes in a heavy mil bag and then putting in the cardboard

Re: Grease disposal thoughts
I just pulled my bucket out from under and have the same problem. Ice cream container or sherbet container would work also.

I always used Rambo's method. Just wait a day or two until you're sure the coals have burned out.
