Bacon and Briquettes cept'n Corn
I hadn't fired up any Charcoal in a while so today I decided to light some Kingsford and grill some ABTs, Shrimp en Brouchette and an ear of Sweet Corn. The Wiffy wanted a Poke Chop so I made room for one amoungst the rest. With a little Garlic Butter and some Salt and Pepper, Lunch was Down

I am envious Emm. We can't do shrimp because the little one is super allergic. That plate looks phenomenal though!

Bummer that the lil'un is allergic to Shrimp, Counselor. I suffer from a similar thing with raw oysters and it happened in my latter years. I used to eat 2 dozen on the half shell and ask for more until one day I ate them and swelled up like an inflatable clown. Since then, if I eat anything in shells like clams, oysters, mussels or etc? I get deathly sick. However, so far shrimp or lobster doesn't bother me.

I love raw oysters and shell fish, OUP, and I hope I never get to that.

Fantastic! Jealous of the shrimp, we have a tough time getting good ones here.

Re: Bacon and Briquettes cept'n Corn
thanks, Mam - - - - you think it's because of the colder water temps up there ??????
I"ve been thinking about wrapping some Jalapeno bacon around a couple of smaller Lobster tails with a Jalapeno strip also ??? and then grilling them like I do the shrimp

Re: Bacon and Briquettes cept'n Corn
I googled up a Recipe for bacon wrapped Lobster Tails and the one I really liked was one that you cut the tail into bite size pieces (crossways) and wrap each piece with a piece of bacon. Then you season (Old Bay?) and Cook. I'm thinking about maybe also stirring up a dip with fine chopped crab meat, catsup and horseradish sauce?

Sounds mouth-watering.
Our shrimp problem is that all we can seem to get (without driving for an hour or two) is pre-frozen stuff from China. No idea why this should be so. We live almost on the water.

Sailor Mam - - I googled shrimp in the US the other day and Texas had the largest available amount of shrimp in the USA.
It's odd that Y'all don't get them from here in the Lone Star

Re: Bacon and Briquettes cept'n Corn
