Ahi Tuna Steaks

Postby tex_toby » Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:45 pm

Grilled up some Ahi Tuna Steaks tonight. Seasoned with Sucklebusters LPG and then coated with sesame seeds. Seared about 1 minute per side on a hot griddle. Once sliced and plated, I drizzled with soy sauce with wasabi paste on the side and grilled asparagus and wild rice. Pretty dang good meal for a Wednesday night. :texas:

First time for me, but certainly won't be the last. I just had it for the first time in November. We went to Mexico over Thanksgiving and I tried it at the resort. It was excellent and I knew I needed to try it at home. Soooo easy!

TT, what are you using for a griddle? I put them grill grates on my gasser, completely changed the way it cooks, for the better.

It's actually a griddle made by GrillGrate. Sits right on top of the other grates. I knew you would like them. They are great (or GRATE) to cook on.

PT - we bought a bag of flash frozen steaks from Costco. It had 8 steaks for like $18. Not bad at all. Yeah, fresh steaks would be better, but they are also like $34/lb. :? Are you who I need to blame for expensive eggs now?

I will look into that. I had my grates custom cut, will I need to do that for the grate also? Or just get a wide one and set it on top and go with it?

old habits are hard to break; I would have never thought I would eat what most consider undercooked fish, I did the rare tuna several times until like Papa Tom said the price got to high, the price of eggs are going up so investigating peanut butter and crackers.... :laughing7: :laughing7:
