A little redfish action

Postby JReich » Sun Apr 23, 2023 10:22 am

Spent last weekend down in Venice, LA doing some fishing. We killed the reds and sheepshead but water was pretty stirred up due to a couple storms so no trout. Caught a giant bull red (44” and 38lbs) and countless other smaller reds. Had a great time and finally got a chance yesterday to enjoy our spoils!

Did some half shells on the grill and fried up a couple. Half shells were one blackened, one lemon butter garlic and one with some chimi churri. Very happy to still have a lot in the freezer.

Beautiful. Did ya’ll have a guide? I used to go offshore out of Venice a lot. They closed the heliport down there, and I’m glad. They say Venice is some of the best fishing in the country.

Yes, we did use a guide. Paradise Plus Outfitters. They are top notch and well known in the area. I can’t say enough nice things about the whole operation.

From the looks of those photos it was worth every penny. It’s a very unique part of the country down there.
