Jerk flavor

Postby Copasspupil » Wed May 03, 2023 4:34 pm

I was on Facebook today and was reading that someone recommended whole allspice and place it in a pellet smoker tube to create the flavor of Jamaican jerk. For proper Jamaican food you're supposed to use pimento wood and that flavor is the closest.

I thought I'd pass it on

I've read that, too. Pimento is the wood to use. Hard to get.

Who cares? Use what you have and cook great meals. :D

I"ve never had any luck getting the proper flavor, "according to my very traveled Step Sons and Step D,I.L., but I'm thinking of ordering some wood chips from Amazon and giving it a good go ?and maybe? a Little Party here at the house this Summer.
