We waited for this.

Strip steak, on sale, $6.99/pound.

Treated only with SB Campfire. Grilled up real pretty. Served with Caesar salad and FauxGrits©️.

Tasted good. But it was chewy. And I picked the most well-marbled piece.

Sometimes it ain't you; it's the meat.

As you said: some meat is just chewy. It looks great in the picture.

That is a fine looking plate!!! :salut: :salut: :salut:
We have had steaks fool us a time or two it happens.
Have you ever tried a kosher salt dry brine on your steak? It will break down the muscles to soften them up.

No, but I thought the Campfire would have enough salt. We did it overnight.

Thanks, everyone. I'ma keep saying, 'At least it tasted good!'

Here is a link to what I started doing on my lesser cuts of beef to help them.
You cover the steak with kosher salt using 1 hour per inch of steak. Then rinse it well and season as you would normally. It does help I like the title "Poor Mans Filet Mignon" lol

I've been doing similar to KAM and his example for several years now.

The difference is I salt both sides. Probably use about the same amount of salt except divided between both sides. Allocate the same time as a minimum.

Bottom line is it works and seasons perfectly for me. I use this method on good cuts too if only for the perfect seasoning.

Works for pork chops too.

I'm gonna try KAM's suggestion, however, after that is done, I"ll be rinsing as stated and then dusting one side with Suckle Busters Campfire Steak Seasoning and the other with Suckle Busters Espresso Seasoning - - - I MUST HAVE THAT Cracked Pepper and Garlic along with the Sodium/Salt. :wav: :salut:  :chef: :texas:
