Howdy folks! It's been a while since we've done a throwdown. With Halloween around the corner, this seems like an excellent idea!

This throwdown will be...............

Are you ready?

Chili!!!!

Here are the rules:
- Everyone may enter 1 picture of their chili. If you enter one picture and would like to replace it, please send it to me and explain which you want as your entry.
- Chili must be displayed in a bowl, no utensils please.
- Garnish is permitted!
- Somewhere in the picture must be the phrase "TEXAS CHILI" It cannot be photoshopped in. It must be written somewhere in the picture.
- No identifying marks or names in the picture please. We want the judging to be anonymous.
- Pictures must be submitted to tbbqfthrowdown@gmail no later than midnight, central time on Halloween.

If you have any questions about the rules or anything, please post them here so that they can all be together in one place.

I know it will come up, so it's your decision if you want to include beans or not.

OK, down to the really important stuff so I put it to the membership -

IS IT CHILI? WITH BEANS OR WITHOUT BEANS????

What good is having a pot if you can’t stir it a bit, LOL.

No mention of lagoons of any kind.

Boots - won't exclude based on beans. Can't say how the membership will judge the entry though....

Beans, no beans, all a matter of personal taste. Wife prefers them so I make beans on the side. I prefer beanless but I’m old and ornery.

I'm in.

Have only made chili with SB spice packs before. In other words I have to read me up on this before sending my entry. Will be fun. Thanks for arranging this.

Shameless bump! Don't sleep on this one! Trying to figure out a worthy prize for the winner.

Hmmmm. This one intrigues me. Never wound up and threw hard at chili but boy the weather’s got me thinkin and drinkin on it.
