THROWDOWN?

Postby TX1911 » Fri Oct 21, 2022 11:15 am

Alright, alright, alright.

I'm thinking about a throwdown. It's been a minute since I put one out there. So, give me some ideas! What would you like to compete in?

Note, since this is a BBQ forum, I prefer to keep the throwdowns to things that have been cooked with fire unless we have an ancillary category.

That being said, there are no bad ideas! Let me hear it! Post them here or send me a PM. Either is fine.

And themes are great as well.

For anyone who is unfamiliar, a throwdown is a friendly competition between forum members. We will decide on a category. There will be a deadline set, and you are allowed to enter one (1) entry. A winner will be chosen by the forum membership, and, occasionally, we have prizes to award.

More details will be given in the announcement post, but that is the gist of it.

I'll contribute a few handmade Whiskey & Oak, Cuban Tobacco and Black Cognac & Rum Soy Candles from our business to the winner!
I'll make sure to design and print the appropriate labels for the jars as well.

That's amazing. Thank you!

I will contribute something to the winner as well, just not sure what yet.

Of course, I'm glad we can do that for the forum. :)

OK, Y'ALL, let's have some ideas of "WHAT" you prefer the Meat to be on the upcoming THROW DOWN that, Counselor, has generously offered to set up and Supervise for us. :dont:

Not a lot of input. How about this, does anyone actually want to do a throwdown?

Good Question and Point Made, Counselor - - - - as for me, I'm all for a THROWDOWN but we sure need more participation to make it "worth while" and FUN. :dont:

If we do one, since it's been so long, I've been thinking we need to get back to our roots. Meat. Cooked with fire.

For example:
Beef: Steak, brisket, etc.
Pork: roasts, loins, ribs, etc.
Chicken: whole, half, wings, drums, etc.

We're too close to Thanksgiving for a turkey contest.

Thinking of an aquatic throwdown in the spring, assuming the participation warrants another.

OK, then I change my preference to "YARD BIRD" aka CHICKEN
