SUPER BOWL THROWDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT
Alright ladies and gents, we're well past due time for a throwdown, so here we go!
Even though the teams are not yet set, we're kicking this one off early to give everyone to get their entries in.
So, as always, here are the rules:
1. The entries allowed are meat. Any meat. Beef, Pork, Chicken, Turkey, Cabrito, Fish, Alpaca, Camel, you get the gist. Importantly, NO PICTURES OF SIDE DISHES WILL BE PERMITTED.
2. The entries must be grilled over an open flame or charcoal, or smoked. George Foreman doesn't get to play on this one, and boiling gets the boot!
3. Somewhere, in the picture, must be the super duper secret phrase "BIGGAME2023". Now, please note that the phrase must appear in the photograph itself. It cannot be added in later via software.
Write it on a card with a pen, or on a plate with bbq sauce, but get it in there somehow.
4. Entries must be emailed to tbbqfthrowdown@gmail.com no later than midnight (12:00) central time (UTC-6) on Wednesday, February 15 so that everyone has plenty of time to recover and get their picture in
5. Have fun with it!
A common question - if you send a picture in and decide to send a second one later (or a third, etc.), that is fine, but please let me know which picture you want to enter. If you leave it up to me, I will choose the last submission.
Prizes? There will absolutely be a prize on this Throwdown. I just have not decided what it will be. Once I decide, I will post it in this thread.
If you have any questions, post them here or send an email to the above and I'll get back to you ASAP.
And now, Light 'Em Up!

Re: SUPER BOWL THROWDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT
I went back in this forum at previous contests and participants. Lots of good cooks; some are still active here and some haven’t been around in while. It would be good to hear from some of those folks

Re: SUPER BOWL THROWDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT
Serious question: if anyone is doing sandwiches for the game, is the bread or rolls allowed in the picture or just the sandwich meat?

Good question. If it is an integral part of the meat related dish, it is allowed. If it is an accompaniment, then no.
For example: A pulled pork sandwich on a roll is allowed. Pulled pork with a roll on the side would not be allowed.
Does that make sense?

Bobby: "No."
