Halibut
Was hungry for some fried fish. This is some halibut I picked up at the HEB awhile back. I do have some wild caught halibut in the freezer with some sockeye reds that a buddy of mine brings back from Alaska, but I am hanging on to that stock for awhile.

Oh great, now I want fried fish! Nicely done.
Crappie and cats are my preference but I’d clean that plate.

Re: Halibut
I will tear up some crappie and catfish as well. But I like lots of different kinds od fish. I pan grilled some of that halibut for the Mrs, using hoochi mama. I turned out really nice as well. Forgot to take a picture of it.

Re: Halibut
Every now & again I’ll get my hands on halibut slabs and my neighbor told me to try smoking the halibut but during the process to put a block of cream cheese or flavored cream cheese on top of the halibut slab. Talk about some killer fish !! OMG

Try a little mixture of Parmesan, diced jalapeño, pecans with a tad of melted butter.

Re: Halibut
I had fresh Ling Cod last night. California bottom fish closed Dec. Seeing as I only live 10 miles from the Oregon border I decided to get my out of state fishing licence in Oregon so I could continue fishing for Ling Cod, Because Oregon bottom fishing is year round. We limited out yesterday with 5 rock cod and 2 Ling Cod apiece. I love the taste of fresh fish. When Halibut season starts in June I will fish for it. this is the size of Lings we catch. Ya got to respect their teeth.

Yes Sir, a very good Table Fish - - - - we've caught them in the Gulf Coast waters and they are very tasty.

Re: Halibut
Nope, I stick to lakes in Texas. No concerns with lipping a crappie or Bass :)
Nice catch!

Re: Halibut
be careful there are lakes in Texas that have walleye in them such as Amistad, now those guys look similar to a bass only not as stocky, and they will teach you a "trick" when you go to grab them like a bass... learned the hard way
