Chesapeake Stormin’ - What is Boots Up to Now?

Postby Boots » Sat Mar 30, 2019 5:09 pm

So just finished the prep stage for Saturday dinner. Your guess as to what is cooking tonight, I left out the picture of the key ingredient. Will update later after the cooking is done. Bonus points to whomever can identify the perfect traditional cocktail you would quaff BEFORE eating this (but definitely NOT during the meal).

For those cheaters that can’t wait, go back to this post for the recipe in the original story, but no spoiler alerts unless somebody guesses prior to dinner time.

A Dark n’ Stormy cocktail first, a favorite up and down the Chesapeake. Then the Texas version of my Mom’s Maryland Crabcakes, circa 1944 recipe, along w a Hawaiian IPA.

This cook is a tribute to Mom, and a salute to all the watermen from Port A to Portland, Maine.

A " Tribute " and " Salute " with those Crab cakes is what its about Boots.

Nothing like making something inspired by Mom or Dad.

I'm a huge fan of this Crabcake version even not knowing what's in it, it looks PERFECT !!

It was most definitely “food”. Forgot to add these were broiled not fried, prefer mine broiled now these days.
