Steaming is best, I also love steamed cabbage. With a dash of mint sauce.

In my case ,yes, we use a lot of butter here. I'm generous with it.

We used to have one of those steamie thingies!
If it was me, I'd sautee the onyawn/garlic, then either stir in the chard and cook it that way, or steam the chard and then add in the sauteed onyawn mix.
Cook it soft. A friend's been having some trouble after eating it raw.

This is mine precook dinner tonight. Stalk cut out with scissors, or leave in and cut thin as per sailors post.
We can also get ours red stalks the same as you have.

Sure wanted to fix that Chard for "my" Lunch today but my Stove had other ideas and I had to throw the breaker. My Friend that does all my handy-work for me is gonna drop by to see if he can figger it out - - - if not then I'll have to bite the bullet and call a Repairman.

If I didn't have to Q 6 racks tomorrow, I might have tried steaming on the ECB ?

We have Sterno cans, and a propane camp stove, for power outages. Ain't pretty but they give heat.
