Recommendations?

Postby Norway Joe » Thu Oct 25, 2018 8:03 am

Hello

I can't buy Sucklebusters here in Norway but I am going to New York in the middle of November. Thinking of buying a few bottles/cans of SB to bring home. I don't think I am allowed to bring the liquid stuff through security and onboard the aircraft so I must stick to powder.

Any suggestions about which I should buy? I mostly make beef and pork, but also chicken. Chicken is mostly chicken breast. And of course burgers.

Just look in Amazon. In Germany you cn buy a lot of that stuff. It must be the same in Norway.

I buy a lot from Amazon but Amazon is not yet in Norway. That means a lot of things doesn't ship to Norway.

I have a US address with jetcarrier.com but with freight and 25% VAT smaller things like this gets unreasonably expensive. And since this is food I must pay custom too.

Thanks for your tips. I will see if I can find some of these in NY.

This forum is great. A lot of friendly knowledgeable people are standing by, ready to share their expertise.

As i think, Noway is part of the EWR and takes place of Schengen. So if it would be helpful for u, u can tell me what u need, send me the Money and I order in Amazon and send it to you. I Think there is no tax from Germany.
Or am I wrong?

Oh. That was very kind. Norway is Schengen member but only EU associated. We have to pay VAT if the price is above about 35 € incl. freight and always customs since it is food.

I have decided to go for the jetcarrier option. They are a great option. In fact I used them to order my summit grill in the spring. Saved me more than 1300 usd including freight and customs from compared to the price here. They ship both by sea and air.

Since I am ordering this way. Which glazes and sauces would you also recommend?

I'll go first real quickly and say that, altho I like some heat and kick to my sauces and glazes, the Wife does not. Therefore, I only get to use my favorite two sauces when I'm cooking rib racks or chicken parts ETC and can separate the ones with the heat. Now, after saying all of that, my favorite, hands down, is their Chipotle BBQ Sauce followed closely by their Hot and Spicey BBQ Sauce. :salut:

The Wife really likes their Original BBQ Sauce and so do I, therefore it is our "mediation Sauce" so to speak.

I'm still using some that I bought and used at my Son's Rehearsal Dinner back on May 18th of this year and I am finally using up the last of my Chipotle Sauce from over a year ago. I've been told that it was kind like Catsup in that respect. :salut:

Something that I do is I pour up approximately what I think I'll need and then put the Jug back in the Frig therefore the remainder never reaches room temperature. :dont:
