One question. I haven't used the gallon jug and pump before. I will store the jug in the fridge with the pump assembled. I won't use this everyday. Do I need to take out the pump each time I use it or how long can it sit on the jug before I have to take it out for cleaning? I'm thinking of bacteria growth in the pump?

So yours came with a pump? Received my gallon today along with some other seasonings and no pump.
