Hatch season has arrived
Got here just in time. I’m down to about a pound from last year’s batch.

Your a lucky man, can't get them up here. A friend from New Mexico sent me some once, just a beautiful pepper.

Re: Hatch season has arrived
I had a friend in Washington State that I used to send Hatch Peppers to. He really loved them also.
I'll probably do a couple of Cooks with them and then I'm happy until next year.
Has anyone of Y'all tried stuffing them and then grilling like a Poblano/Chili Rellenyo

Haven’t tried stuffing. Meat is so thin it’s pretty well cooked after roasting. But stuffing, battering and frying might work. I got a few from last year so I’ll give it a go.

Did a search for Chile Relleno. There was one using Anaheim so Hatch will work. Even one using jalapeños. Giving it a test run Thursday or Friday.

If it’s the flavor you’re after; can some jars with vinegar

They’re not that special to me but you can preserve them for later

Thanks, I wanted to pick some up today but they were not the best of shape so I'm gonna go back later. Looking forward to your report on stuffing them.

I’ve done 25# a year for the last 5-6 years. Roasted, skinned, deveined, sealed and frozen. Last the full year.

We never see them here but that would be the way we'd go.

Re: Hatch season has arrived
If you can get Anaheim peppers they are in the same family. I think a little more spicy than the medium hatch, maybe not as spicy as the hot hatch. But still a good substitute.
