Greg: What time is it at your place now? It's 7 47 am here. Been up for an hour already.

1:07 am here. I have been to the beer joint Mr Joe. You are now 7 hours ahead of us. But when I first got to Norway it was 6. You change time like we do, you just do it a little later than we do.

Great. This is probably the last year we change time. They are just figuring if we stay at summer or wintertime. It's an EU thing.

We're not, but we're like an associate member. Have to incorporate all their stupid ideas and regulations.

Thats unfortunate. The EU is bad. And you have a wonderful country, and you should be in charge of it. No one from Brussles should be involved.

Agree. The problem is we're a tiny country and the EU market is very important to us. Doesn't have much choice if we want access to their market.

We're veering off topic now. Don't want to break any forum rules so we must stick to chili I think.

Ok. Here we go.

This was fantastic. Very different from the watered down versions we find here.

We ate it all! No leftovers. Our youngest son ate almost more than me and said we must have this every day. That's the best judgment I can get.

It's a warning dish so I see this coming up often next winter.

I started with Angus ground beef, 86/14. Dumped it in portions on a paper towel to drain fat. Pat it dry on top and dumped it in the pot. Poured in the rest of the ingredients for the first 30 min. simmering. Then dump 1 and 2 with 30 min. intervals.

I skipped the cornbread and went for a freshly baked bread made of sourdough. (Hope we still are friends :laughing7:) We have a great bakery 2 min. away where they have awesome bread.

This was, as I said a great success. Turned my back to Fonzie, and look what he did. He stepped on a chair so he could reach the bowl. Must have been the great smell. Turned out he was a big fan too.

Thanks to all of you for all the great advices and tips. Appreciate it.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Great looking pot of chili Joe. That SB competition chili is very good. I just got a coupld of packs in myself. Its hard to keep enough of it in the pantry.

The Fonz is awesome. he deserves a nice bowl of Texas Red.

not too much fonze….. it'll make ya sick, with all that spice..( I have a soft spot in my heart for a puppy)
Looks great Joe, My chili looks like that, I have never taken such care to "degrease" the meat as you did. I normally use lean beef and sometimes throw in some lean pork, not more than 25% though.
That bowl looked mighty good :salut:

Thanks. Fonzie didn't get more than what he managed to lick of the edge of the bowl. Way to hot for his stomach, I guess.
