I fixed some Chile also but in my first dish it was used to fill some soft corn tortillas along with some Monterey Jack and Queso Blanco - - probably the best I've had in a long long time. Until this Front gets the heck outa here, we'll be dining on Chile, Cabbage Patch Stew, Sherry's Homemade Soup and Zuppa Tuscana Soup. all good cold weather Foods. :wav: :salut:  :chef: :texas:

No Sir. 1 cup self rising flour, 1 cup cornmeal, 2 Tbs sugar, 1tsp baking powder, 1/4 cup cooking oil, 1egg, buttermilk. Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix. Add buttermilk, Egg, and oil just enough buttermilk to get it tacky, not runny. Put some oil in the bottom of your cast iron skillet; make sure you get some oil on the sides of the skillet and dust sides and bottom with flour and cornmeal, loaf will fall right out. Add cheese, jalapeños, or whatever floats your boat
