Tortilla Testing Today

Postby OldUsedParts » Sun Apr 19, 2020 11:03 am

As I mentioned earlier, I planned on using some leftover Beer Can Chicken white meat on some Quesadillas soon and today is the day. I'm also using some new tortillas made by HEB that incorporate the corn flavor with the flour. My Lufkin Friend, Rambo, was the one that turned me onto these and I can't wait to see how the corn flavor influences the taste of the Quesadilla. Here are the primary ingredient pics and the final pics will come later.

Well, the Tortillas passed the test with flying colors but the Quesadillas failed because of the Brookeshire Bros. Food Club Tomatoes and Green Chilies. The tomatoes totally ruined them and there was no way to undo what was already done. This was the first time for me to use them and it was only because of the Virus when the Quarantine first began. At least I don't have to throw away but 2 cans. :laughing7: I am also going to use the Torts on some Enchiladas and Breakfast Chalupas instead of the Quesadillas. I couldn't get the edges to stick together like Flour Torts do but I'll be buying them again for other reasons.

Y’all don’t know how fortunate you are to be close to HEB.

Funny thing is HEB owns several plots of land around here. They read that one of these days they will open. Instead it winds up being a Central Market or sold.

From what I’ve read, there will probably never be a HEB in the metroplex. The metroplex is already over saturated with grocery stores especially with the Walmart supercenters, the Targets that sell groceries, Costco, Sam’s etc.

Probably true. As far as true grocery stores go, Kroger needs some competition

The yucky overpowering taste of the Maters just ruined the entire Lunch.
I managed to get most of one down and the Wiffy stopped at a half of one of hers.
So we agreed to just chunk the whole mess and "Lesson Learned" :banghead:
