Air fryer brussells sprouts

Postby Sailor Kenshin » Sun Mar 05, 2023 1:03 pm

For all you air fryer vejable fans…

Fresh sprouts, cleaned and quartered. Hmmmm… something went a little wrong. Maybe the temp was too high for them to cook through before charring (and I DID want some char there). Done with olive oil and Tajin, that sweet/sour fruit shake.

The smaller cuts tasted good, and the rest will go in the nuker tomorrow to soften some. This might go better using frozen sprouts instead of fresh, or par-cooking first. :dont:

I'd eat those in a "Texas Minute" - - the nuke sounds like a good addition option  :chef:

We just bought new Appliances for the Kitchen. Our new Double Oven has an Air Fryer. I don’t know how to work it and am not interested. OUP and I have been back and forth on this; if I want to Fry something there has to be a skillet and grease. I know I’m old and apologize to the younger generation :whiteflag:

I use our Air Fryer for "convenience" and nothing else - - - I also use Suckle Busters SPG along with Hootchie Mama and some others.
I can whoop out a quick Lunch of stick veggies and Chicken Wings in less than 30 minutes that taste great thanks to Suckle BUsters AND
there's very few dishes to wash either. :chef:  :salut: :texas: It's just what this "OLD MAN" needs

Well, it's more like 'roasting.' They use the term 'fryer' because they want you to think it actually fries, and magically removes all calories from all food.

And I don't know why but as OUP sez, it's fantastic for roasting vejables, chicken wings (also drums). Not to mention anything frozen.

Ours is one of those As Seen On TV models. :laughing7:

whoooo, I didn't intend, to lite the fuse on a stick of dynamite....

We had one of those QVC air fryers, the end product was just never to our liking, probably due to my or my little bride's lack of "how to"
I think we are to old and set in our ways, frying involves a wok or skillet and grease(like Rambo said) and like OUP said less dishes I understand that one too..
My wife and I have this little deal, I cook and she helps clean and vice versa, but at the same time I would not cook for just me, but will for her, she says the same thing so I guess we are well matched. ;)

I am a huge fan of Brussels I would hit those hard for sure.
We do not have an air fryer in the house Debbie used one once and just wasn't a fan. Typically we steam Brussels or I slice them them and fry down in bacon grease and garlic. The fried are my all time favorite.
Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Us, too...and we just got a couple packs frozen to see if that works better (maybe they'll be 'pre-softened' when they thaw).
