I call it UDS Squared. Off to get powder coated.

Postby k.a.m. » Wed Mar 04, 2020 10:04 am

A friend asked me if I could build him a square cooker like a UDS but he wanted a bit more real estate. We decided on 24" square x 34" tall. It is a work in progress planning and designing as I go. Not to bad for 1.5 days of work. I have to judge this weekend so I will be back on it soon.
I needed something to weld some sheet metal.

Bought some steel.

Saturday I cut out the pieces and made up one side panel.

Sunday I finished up the base. I still have the lid and other stuff to do.

With no cook-offs and plenty of time I got the cooker finished.
Here are the pics in somewhat order lol.
Welding out sheet metal will test your patience i ended up bracing the lid to keep it from moving.

After I welded on the intakes it was time for wheels and a front foot.

Then I needed a handle so I opted for my signature look that I use on my cookers.

Needed a lid for the exhaust.
