Family members birthday yesterday, you get to order entree main and dessert. Chicken croquettes were entree. Then request was leg of lamb over coals on the rotisserie. I boned it out and cooked it. Best lamb I've ever had. Then croissant brûlée. We were all full.

Weathers warming up here so this rotisserie will get more use. 25 deg c Sunday. Something about a charcoal pit. The smell was amazing. D.i.l walked up driveway and said she could smell it straight away. Great day with the family, kids has a chicken.

Hey Russ, we need to talk. First of all, it sounds delish but your rotisserie was it something you built or bought somewhere? Pros/Cons of it? I want to add on to my wood fired grill. Looking for advice,
Thanks,

My kids bought it for me from a place called Bunnings. $140 from memory, adjustable height and heat adjustment with vents at the bottom. Works brilliantly. I'm still working on cooking times but the smell was amazing, I basted through the cook with olive oil and garlic, with rosemary.

THIS is the permanent pit I will build for my new home. Russ, that leg looks awesome! I LOVE rotisserie. Everything about it. It is as basic as it gets. Grass roots bbq; old world.

Excellent Russ thanks for the info. I’m doing it. Time to remeasure then order one. Thanks a bunch!

Here’s the open pit I built. It measures 36” wide by 24.
