Batavia smoker/grill
Needed a smoker and grill at the cabin. Today I only have a gasser here.
Went for this one. I don't know how good it is, but it seems versatile. The drum is in three separate sections which you can place in the order you want, depending on use. If you want to smoke or bbq you obviously use 3 sections and place the charcoal basket and the water pan at the bottom. For grilling you put the charcoal section at the top or take off a section if you want it lower. There is also a ring to put in so it can be used as a fire pit. In this configuration you can use 1,2 or 3 sections.
Came with a grill grate and a cross with hooks to hang stuff for smoking.
Planned to take it out tomorrow for a test but my wife wants it out now. Can you understand? I think it was a nice addition to the interior. It kind of blend in with the other interior.
I already see a few mods I would add, but that must wait until spring/summer.

Cool. I'm actually doing a run now. My cousin and his wife are coming to spend the weekend with us at the cabin. Smoking some ribs, a batch of wings and some abt's. Cornbread, twice baked potatoes and slaw.spacetrucker wrote:I had a good time "just looking around" on that website... I am so easily amused....

Yes. Never had so much snow so early. I guess it's called climate crisis.daBertl wrote:My wife has friends in Norway and they all say that snow came already.

I think they produce so much that it freezes the ground.OldUsedParts wrote:I always thought they needed a better base for the Artificial Snow oh well, shows to go ya
At some cross country places they even produce snow when it's 68 f outside during summer. They even store snow from one winter to another.

Surely not, because the storytellers told us in the beginning of the year, that we will die of heat and not of cold.
So it must be only snow. Snow as we knew before

Great photo! I envy the hilltop view.
That Batavia looks to me like a very creative and elegant version of our UDS here in the states. Reminds me of a guy that used to frequent this blog named BluDawg. He was the king of the UDS cookers and did a nice job but at some point fell off the radar. He really had an extensive knowledge of this kind of thing.
The other expert that might be good on this is a guy name Big Ed, Who I actually met at a cook off here in McKinney a few years ago. Guy was a stone cold expert on UDS, and had won several competitions hear about as a one-man operation with a little bit of help and added class from his bride. Very nice guy.If you could ever reach him on a p.m., he would be a great knowledge source for this kind of cooker.

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."
