Spit on Smoker, comments welcome.

Postby henri.wolbrink » Tue Jun 09, 2020 2:23 pm

Hi, haven't been on this forum for a while now but never lost my passion for our 'Q's.

I now have a trailer rig and want to add a rotisserie to one of the barrels.

Distance between embers and product should be about 12" while usable spit length is 44".

Embers will be in the back of the barrel and I will add a drip catcher to use the juices for basting.

Any comments before I execute this build?

Anyone done this before? ImageImageImage

Imo it should work. But I would be happy to hear any critics.

Only problem I foresee is the diameter of the cook chamber limiting the size of the hog you could easily spin in it. Outside of a size limit your plan seems to be a sound one.
