Anyone purchase an Aaron Franklin smoker yet? I haven’t been able to find any reviews online yet.

No info to impart but I would think they work fine, after all his reputation is at stake and he does build the pits he cooks on.

It is a nice looking cooker but in my opinion it is overpriced for what you get. If your'e looking for a pit with Franklin's name on it then it is for you. If you want something that performs equally well for far less they are out there.

That was my impression as well. And it's, at this time at least, a one size fits all deal. I haven't heard if there are any plans to make any larger units.

Before you go buyin one... might think about making one like he did. I found this both very entertaining and practical to as applied to other cuts of Meats as well. I will, in the near future, build something like this as the “Boots Cooker” as time permits, been mulling it for years (serious decisions take time). As a whole hogger myself I really got a kick out of this. Hope you enjoy and be well.
