Hope everyone is well. Have not checked in for a while. Been doing very little smoking and grilling these days. Gettin ready to smoke a pork picnic this weekend, probably Saturday afternoon. I will definitely post pictures.
On the health front, I had a pet scan done two Saturday’s ago and it revealed a new active cell in the liver, not bad! It took 28 months for some spreading to take place. Biopsy and oblation coming up. One day at a time and we’ll see what happens. Spirits are still high and starting to seriously plan our move to Houston. My wife will need help eventually taking care of me. My brother and sister in law are both retired and they are more than happy to help. In fact, they are ecstatic we are considering the move. It will all work out. I am at peace with the whole thing. On the positive side, I get to bbq for my brother, niece and nephew along with partners, not a bad deal! They even love my Nola cooking! This may be 18 months away but I will let you know when it happens.

Hello, quick update. My wife told me, not suggested, that we are going to Houston in the next six to twelve months! Oncologist even agrees that the time to do it is now! Brother, sister in law, niece and nephew can’t wait for us to get there. I love Tampa, been here since 74, but my wife needs a support system and my family in Houston is crazy about her. So after checking a few things about Houston, 3.99 a pound for brisket? You’re kidding me, right? I am ready to do some smoking!!!! Will keep you posted on the details. Rambo, coming home to Texas, let’s see how soon we can make it happen!

Well a quick update. Had a biopsy and ablation of the liver. Barely recovered and it was done Thursday. But as always still here. Let’s see what the diagnosis is. Meanwhile my wife is starting to get busier looking for Texas homes. Yes Rambo, planning on Kingwood, Humble area. Have not felt like grilling or bbq in a while. A good brisket is calling me! Might just make it to wild fork and get a small flat for the missus and I. So far feel like a driver in a demolition derby. Let’s see how the week goes.
