Pit Boss 700 De luxe

Postby charly0046 » Wed Mar 04, 2020 1:27 pm

Hello I am new here and I live in Sweden.
I bought a Pit boss 700 De luxe and understood everything so far, but what about when I'm done with smoken, just cook, or how do I go about it?
best regards Andy the old Swede
Sorry I'm using Google Translater, I don't speak English :(I mean when I'm done, just turn it off, right?

Howdy, Charly, and Welcome to the Forum :texas:  :salut:

If you are speaking of routine maintenance after you finish a cook/smoke/bbq, then I suggest a brief cleaning/vacuuming
with something like a shop vac. I also always cover my drip pan with foil "before" cooking anything. If necessary, you can use a wire brush (I use one with my electric drill) if necessary for nasty cleanups and food spots. Altho, this may sound like too much, it really isn't that big of a deal if you just do your homework and not let it get in bad shape. It sure is nice to step up to a clean pit the next time you want to cook something, instead of worrying about trouble from old pellets or junk in the fire box.

Hopefully others will offer their ideas and inputs also.

I have a question again: in my instruction manual, when you are done cooking, grilling, etc., set the regulator to high for 5-10 minutes, this is the normal cleaning, you have more fat, etc. leave it 10- 20 minutes on high, later on 93 degrees 5 minutes, then open the lid and on off. The grill now cools down automatically. Is that correct or?

hank you (old used parts), that's exactly how it is written in the operating instructions for me, only with the addition then let it run for another 5 minutes at 93 degrees, then switch it off. I will test and report it soon. I am just new in the pellet smoker, previously worked with beech wood and other woods on a normal smoker.

Good Luck and let us know how everything works for you. I do think that the High Heat burn off and shut down is very very important for your next cook as far as flash/grease fire problems. :salut:

Hej Smoker friends, the first test with the Pit Boss 700D was successful. Branded and after cooling, preheated, then the road kill chicken on it, after about 1.5 hours everything was fine, so that even the legs had almost fallen off and the chicken breast, so the boss said the house was nice and juicy. The temperature the smoker held well at - 2 degrees between - / + 7 degrees, I'm satisfied, but it was the first time.

Greetings to Texas Andy the Old Swede !! :salut:

Looks good you are hooked.......nothing else will be good enough again.
The maintenance and shut down procedure given here is accurate, I have been using pellet grills for over 20 years now and ain't changing. It is just too easy and convenient with pellets.

Enjoy that 700 it is a good one.
