Hi - I just purchased a Dyna-Glo DGY784BDP 36" Vertical smoker, and am looking for suggestions on mods (if any) that you may have. I'm going to season it today, and then do my first cook tomorrow.
- While the doors seem to close pretty snug, I could imagine some smoke escaping from the edges. Has anyone tried putting gasket tape, similar to an oven door, to help seal it?
- I have read that the temperature gauge most likely will not be reliable. Does anyone have a favorite temp gauge they use to replace the out of the box kind?
- Are there any other mods that you'd recommend for a new vertical smoker?
Thank you, and I look forward to reading tips and tricks here in the forum.

Re: Vertical Gas Smoker Mod suggestions
Welcome! Gasket material can be purchased most times, from any home supply store; Lowes, Home Depot, etc.. This is never a bad first move.
