Weber Boat Grill

Postby OkieGal » Wed May 19, 2021 5:58 pm

After seeing Joe’s Magma grill on his boat, I thought I’d post a picture of my boat grill.

This is a Weber Galley Que, made for boat grilling. It’s a charcoal grill and one of the first Smokey Joes, circa 1960.
It has gimbals around it that would help to keep the grill level at all times.
Apparently it had a bracket so it could be attached to a pole on the boat, but mine didn’t come with that.

I bought this recently from someone who had stored it outside for “at least 25 years”.
I haven’t had a chance to spend any time on it yet, but I look forward to cleaning it up and hope to restore it, to some degree.

I don’t even have a boat, but I think it will still look pretty neat in my little Weber collection. :D

It’s like my Weber Mini kettle. It’s a Steak and Hamburger cooking Son of a gun. Takes a double handful of charcoal; you’re going to love it

Thanks, k.a.m.! It won't be the quality restore that those guys do, but I'm pretty sure I can at least make it "purtier".
I've read that this retailed in 1960 for $34.95 - I paid $20.00 for this one, so apparently they hold their value pretty well. LOL
(I know I got a good deal.)
