New Uds build

Postby Corn_Bread » Tue Dec 04, 2018 4:09 am

Quick question about drums. I have found local a new raw drum with no lining. Do I still need to do a burnout or should it be good? Would it be just as easy to get a propane weed burner and just cook it for safe measures? I just want to be safe. With the torch about how long does the drum stay hot as I don’t want a hot drum in the yard while we sleep. Sorry for the noob questions but I’m ready to kick this project off.

Hello Sir, I too am fixing to start building a UDS soon. Right now I am working on / changing designs still thinking which way to go

I have no experience here, however if it were me I would run the pear burner in it for a while anyway. Certainly cant hurt other than burning a little gas.
